"Making visible the invisible"
- a quote by expressionist painter Paul Klee has
been instrumental for me theoretically as well
as creatively and emotionally. To bring forth
the spirit behind form is the thrust of my artmaking
process.
In recent years, because of my ability to approach life more subjectively along with a better
sense of personal regard, I now know that each and every act in which I participate is in
essence an effort of rich creativity. I have often viewed the tangible art I am producing at the time
- almost as if a by-product or personalized record of the people, places or things I am
experiencing.
As an outgrowth of these ideas, I have currently come to label my art as "soulscapes".
Conceptually then, the term soulscapes encompasses the idea of an overall value of direct, personal
engagement while experiencing the process involved in creating a unique and personalized piece
of artwork. I know this collaboration not only enhances my soul but serves as a contributor to the
universal, collective understanding of creative process.
